The NHL Alumni Hockey Dream Draw just completed another successful year with 19,216 tickets sold for this year’s event. The draw raised $96,080.00 in sales with D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) programs throughout Ontario earning $31,000.00 and Ontario Minor Hockey programs receiving $40,000.00.

The GRAND PRIZE winner of the Dream Draw was Jason Taylor from Timmins Ontario. The winning ticket was sold by Stephanie Taylor, Jason’s wife.

The whole Taylor family including 15 year old Danielle, 12 year old Kyle (a DARE graduate) and 10 year old Ashley, who plays in Timmins Minor Hockey, spent their March Break enjoying a 4 game NHL road trip to Buffalo, Tamp Bay and Sunrise Florida. They saw the Sabres play the Thrashers and received game sticks from head coach John Anderson and assistant coach Randy Cunningworth, both former teammates of organizer Paul Harrison. Toronto played the Lightning and the Panthers where the family met and spent time with many of the Leaf players including Coach Ron Wilson. They also saw Florida play Columbus.  While in Florida, Ashley made her T.V debut at ice level with an appearance on Leaf T.V and on Hockey night in Canada as well as Leaf radio. They also saw the space shuttle launch from their hotel room and enjoyed time at Bush Gardens and a day Deep Sea Fishing, where Jason caught a 40 lb. Amber-Jack.

The NHL Alumni Hockey Dream Draw is available to all minor hockey teams and organizations in Ontario as well all drug prevention programs.
