Q- How much do the tickets sell for?

A- The tickets sell for $5.00 a piece with $3.00 going to support the team or association that sells them.

 

Q- How many people go on the trip?

A- Whoever sells the winning ticket also wins the grand prize.The winner and a guest and the seller and a guest will go on the hockey trip. This year we have added a second prize.

 

Q- How many winners are there?

A- The number of winners is based on the volume of tickets sold. This year 50,000 tickets will be sold and there will be two group of winners (4 people in total will go on each of the escorted trip along with an NHL Alumni member).

 

Q- Is this legal?

A- This is a licensed Ontario Lottery raffle. Hockey Dream Draw is registered with AGCO as a Gaming Service Supplier. You will get a copy of the lottery license with your ticket order.

 

Q- Who holds the licence?

A- The North East Region OPP D.A.R.E. board holds the license and it is run through their not for profit charity. They will make all the necessary lottery financial returns.

 

Q- What is our role?

A- Your team(s) will still need to sell the tickets and account for your ticket sales by returning all sold and unsold tickets prior to draw date along with the balance of the sales.

 

Q Why do we need to include $1.00 for every ticket ordered?

A- As per Ontario Lottery Regulations a minimum of 20% of potential revenue must be spend in support of the prize package. This accounts for the need for a $1.00 deposit to cover your portion of the prize package and some costs. We are not selling you tickets. Your organization will become a partner with the NHLA in the fundraising.

 

Q- What are the odds of winning the Grand Prize?

A- The worst odds possible will be 1 in 50,000. for a ticket buyer, still good for $5.00. The ticket seller increases there odds of winning with each ticket sold.

 

Q- Can the tickets be sold 3 for $10.00

A- Tickets can only be sold for $5.00 each for financial return reasons. You can sell them for $50.00 a book.

 

Q- Do you supply promotional material?

A- Yes, posters are included with your order and you can print pamphlets and posters off the web-site

 

Selling Tips:

 

  • Best sellers are players, parents, coaches, trainers, managers, volunteers. People sell tickets, they do not sell themselves
  • Local businesses may get on board to display posters and provide space for tickets at the counter
  • Cable and media outlets may promote sales and locations/persons to purchase tickets
  • Many minor hockey organizations give each player a book/s of tickets to sell to help offset registration fees
  • Organized team location sales at games, beer store, mall etc. for team fundraising for uniforms, equipment and  tournaments
